Most tools incorporate a take-away assignment as a way to encourage people to practice a skill in their day-to-day environment. It’s important that staff follow up on assignments. For example, if staff assign a BITS or Guides tool as a take-away assignment, the next visit must include a review of that assignment. Without follow-up, a person might feel that the staff member doesn't value the tools or take them seriously, and they might feel as if there's no reason to be invested in the tools either.
